Goals
Goal 1
A holistic approach to enhance the capabilities of modern museums in terms of documenting content and conservation methods and achieving higher levels of visitor experience.
Goal 2
Composition and configuration of ontologies for the digital documentation and presentation of exhibits, their conservation methods, their spatial management and their evaluation.
Goal 3
The development of tools to create and deliver a museum visitor experience, for a personalized and near real-time experience, through visitor tracking and visitor compartmentalization techniques.
Goal 4
The development of tools for the management of documentation ontologies (Repository), measurement and analysis of the museum experience, management of statistics and evaluation of exhibits and routes.
Goal 5
The creation and equipping of an Open Lab for the presentation/demonstration of innovative methods for the conservation and restoration of textile objects and exhibits of selected showcases/collections of
Goal 6
The operational verification, pilot implementation and demonstration of the unified system and the evaluation of the results.
Innovation
Innovation covers almost all the fields of knowledge covered by the project. The greatest contribution of the project, however, lies precisely in the integration of technologies either state of the art or beyond, with the aim of optimal documentation and promotion of exhibits/objects of recent cultural heritage and their restoration/preservation methods. In the context of the project, the research contribution and the advancement of Science is not primarily in the technologies incorporated but in their application in the context of the project implementation. The challenges encountered in applying emerging technologies in a complex context such as that of Digital Cultural Management and the proposed methods to address them highlight the need to adapt the technologies and promote Science primarily in the respective fields of Technology.
